Uranium Butter Dish- Hocking Block Optic

First produced in the 1800’s in Bohemia, now the Czech Republic, Uranium glass captivated Americans. Containing trace amounts of Uranium 2%- 25%, the glass glows under UV light. The production of Uranium glass all but stopped during World War II when Uranium reserves were diverted for the Manhattan project.

This butter dish is in mint condition. It’s graphic cover proclaims exactly what it is. A set piece, to set your table and share with friends. When someone says, “Pass the butter,” you may feel inspired to say, “The Butter,” as this unique piece takes center stage.
